My Second Mother

 

First off all, I have to mention my second mother's name. It's St. Mary's National College, Veyangoda. 

There were so many wonderful memories in my school days. Before heading to my story I would like to say some information about my school. The school was established in 1912 as a boys' school and after few years it started as a mixed school.Our school has classes from Grade 1 to Grade 13. All grades are conduct in Sinhala & English medium. There're about 4000 students learning from the school.

  There is a great person I must remark that, our recent principal Mr.B.D.I.K.Karunarathne. He started to work at our school as the principal in 2015, I was in Grade 9. Because of him our school has developed in many ways. He changed  the school structural features impressively. Build an open stage and newly open several buildings and science laboratoriers,new ICT laboratories, basket ball court and a sport pavillion and many more. Most importantly,he was allownced new ideas to be creative and encouraged students in both mentelly and physically to face for their own future. He always tried to create  new events, new path to show our talents, to build our personalities, he was like a father and a great leader to his students and the school staff. Because of him, I had many experinces, took so many oppertunities to show my talents. Personally I think, we want a president to our country as like him. Because he has a great personallity and well-knowledge. He was always knew that what he's doing. 

As I mentioned, there were so many memories  can't forget in my school life.The reason why I said like that because,I have studied their from grade 2 to grade 13. So I think now you can imaginate, how I notified earlier those things about my school and about our principal like a genuis😎. Because I was being a witness for all those years. Most happiest thing that how far my school has developed in this few years to the present. 

I remembered, my last music concert in school (2019), because I performed with bottom of my heart. It was such a magnificent day. Not only to me, there were many students who enjoyed, perfomed as well as.  As a school student, I tried to make my school shine as much as I can. As a results, I won several times All Island music competitions and gave honoured to my school, did my O/L, A/L successfully and finally selected to the University,which was my first goal. Thinking about my school days in nowdays, I am always on nine cloud.I'm greatful for all the teachers and friends, parents who were encouraged, supported me and being with me in this journey so far.  Therefore to me, my school is a second mother and a heaven.I love my school.💓🙏

My Favourite Musical Instrument.

Tabla is my one of favourite musical instruments. It's a North Indian percussion instrument. According to the modern research suggests that the tabla was invented in the first half of the 18th century by a drummer named Amir Khusru.  The story of tabla and me is intersting. I've been playing tabla since 2012. My mother is my first teacher and after few months I met a specialist for playing tabla. My second teacher, his name is Mr.Harindra Deshapriya. Untill now he is my guruji. In the beginning it was hard, many times I thought to quite but at the same time I wasn't able to quite and mainly my inner thoughts and heart couldn't gave up.so I tried to practice continuesly. Friendship

Friends... Friendship...   What do you think about friendship?  In my opinion, I would say it's a lovely bond between people or with an animal or with things.  Because to someone, a pet could be his/her best friend, to someone his music instrument could be his or her best friend. There is no rule that friendship is only mean to be  between humans. There are many more meanings have the word of friendship. Moreover friendship can bring some relaxation, encouragement or happiness to someone's life. Sometimes it can be a disaster  to someone. Because, there are pros and cons have in anything belongs to the universe. Not only in the world.  But it will be depend the way you handle it.  During our life we meet many friends at different situations  and then we are create different friendships.
